Bank Cashier – Branch Operations

About the role

We are looking for a diligent Cashier to manage all cash‑related transactions at our branch. The role ensures accurate processing of cheques, drafts, cash deposits and withdrawals while maintaining compliance with banking guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Collect loan repayments according to EMI schedules and record entries in the banking system.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty cash register, assets register and submit requisitions to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tally, reconcile transactions and prepare end‑of‑day reports.
• Jointly manage the branch vault and ensure safe custody of cash, keys and valuables.
• Provide courteous customer service, address queries, and promote bank products and alternate channels.
• Ensure adherence to turnaround times, regulatory compliance and internal policies for all cashier operations.

Required profile

• Experience in cash handling and branch banking operations.
• Ability to follow internal and external banking guidelines accurately.
• Strong attention to detail for transaction reconciliation and register maintenance.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers and cross‑selling.
• Capability to work collaboratively with the Operations Officer and Assistant Branch Manager.
