Bank Cashier – Branch Operations

About the role

The Bank Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at the branch in line with internal and external banking guidelines. The role ensures accurate processing, proper record‑keeping, and end‑of‑day reconciliation while delivering courteous service to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty cash, and assets registers; submit requisitions to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tally, prepare end‑of‑day reports, and manage the branch vault jointly with the Operations Officer.
• Interact with customers, address queries, cross‑sell products, and promote use of alternate channels.
• Ensure compliance with turnaround times, regulatory requirements, and bank policies for all cashier operations.
• Validate customer authenticity during cash withdrawals and verify deposit slip accuracy.
