Backend Engineer

About the role

Delivery Hero India is seeking a Backend Engineer to design, develop and maintain high‑performance backend services that power its food‑delivery platform. You will work in a fully remote environment, collaborating with product managers, front‑end developers and other stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Java‑based microservices using Spring Boot.
• Build and document RESTful APIs for web and mobile applications.
• Implement and manage relational (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases, ensuring data integrity and security.
• Conduct code reviews, write unit tests and maintain technical documentation.
• Troubleshoot performance issues and optimise application responsiveness.
• Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement of architecture and processes.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in backend development.
• Strong understanding of design patterns, asynchronous data flows and event‑driven architectures.
• Ability to investigate critical system issues and propose effective solutions.
• Excellent written and spoken English and the ability to work independently.
