AVP - Model Risk Conformance

About the role

Barclays is hiring an Assistant Vice President for Model Risk Conformance in its Risk Assurance team, which sits in the Second Line of Defence. The Conformance Review Team runs an independent programme of reviews to check that business areas identified in an annual risk profiling exercise follow the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF) through its policies and standards. The role supports the Head of Conformance in running the day-to-day conformance reviews and is based in Gurugram/Noida.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Head of Conformance in executing the agreed annual (or updated) Conformance Review Plan.
• Analyse processes, transactions and activities across business units to assess adherence to policies, regulations and internal controls.
• Interview, review documentation and analyse data to gather evidence of compliance.
• Identify and report deviations or non-conformities, document findings and recommend corrective actions.
• Analyse the effectiveness of existing controls and recommend improvements.
• Oversee that the bank operates in line with frameworks, policies, standards, laws, rules, regulations and internal controls.

Required profile

• Experience in model risk.
• End-to-end risk portfolio management experience or knowledge.
• Understanding of regulatory policy requirements.
• Desirable: model risk or internal audit background, knowledge of the Group risk structure, knowledge of the legal entities and transaction cycles of the Barclays Group, and knowledge of the financial services regulatory environment.
• Ability to advise on complex issues, lead a team, set objectives, coach employees and influence stakeholders.
