Automotive Aftermarket Diagnostic Developer

About the role

The Automotive Aftermarket Diagnostic Developer will serve as the subject‑matter expert for interpreting intricate OEM diagnostic specifications and converting them into reliable diagnostic data designs for Bosch’s aftermarket solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret and analyse complex OEM diagnostic specifications.
• Translate diagnostic requirements into actionable data designs and implementation strategies.
• Identify ambiguities in specifications and seek clarification from stakeholders.
• Collaborate with validation teams to ensure thorough testing.
• Debug and resolve issues in diagnostic data, tool interactions, and vehicle communication protocols using advanced debugging techniques and protocol analyzers.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and cross‑functional teams.
• Lead architectural design of new diagnostic features and platform enhancements.
• Define best practices, standards, and design patterns for diagnostic data development.
• Stay updated on emerging automotive diagnostic technologies and evaluate their impact on the product roadmap.
• Participate in design reviews, technical discussions, and project planning meetings.
• Simulate and test authored diagnostic content using virtual setups and vehicle testing.
• Create workflow and test sequences using IDEs such as BDX or Grade‑X.

Required profile

• 8+ years of progressive experience in automotive diagnostics development, including lead or architectural roles.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle systems and ability to diagnose and troubleshoot vehicles.
• Proven capability to make vehicles roadworthy through diagnostic interventions.
