Automation Engineer

About the role

ETAP is looking for an Automation Engineer to design, develop, and commission SCADA/DMS solutions for electrical networks. You will work on control‑room setups, integrate programmable controllers, and ensure reliable operation of automation systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design, engineer, document, and test SCADA/DMS automation solutions.
• Commission control‑room setups, including RTU/PLC communication.
• Perform on‑site installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of SCADA/DMS hardware (routers, RTUs, firewalls, etc.).
• Create and maintain SCADA/DMS databases and equipment configurations.
• Develop engineering deliverables such as control philosophy, FAT/SAT procedures, user manuals, and HMI graphics.
• Support customers and field personnel during operation, inspection, maintenance, and fault resolution.

Required profile

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Clear communication skills and ability to follow site‑lead instructions.
• Experience delivering SCADA‑ADMS, industrial, or solar projects.
• Customer‑focused attitude for on‑site support and troubleshooting.

Required skills

• SCADA/DMS system configuration and database management.
• PLC, RTU, RMU, FRTU connectivity.
• Network configuration (router, managed switch, VLAN, firewall).
• Scripting in Python, C#, C++, or VB.
• SQL database configuration and stored‑procedure writing.
• CCNA certification (advantageous).
