ATSEM (H/F) – Assistant Territorial for Nursery Schools

About the role

The City of Saint-Jean de Braye is recruiting a full‑time ATSEM (Assistant Territorial Specialized in Nursery Schools) to work within the Education and Families department. The ATSEM supports the kindergarten teacher in both material and educational aspects, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for young children.

Key responsibilities

• Assist children in developing autonomy.
• Support the teacher with classroom preparation, activity animation, and material handling.
• Supervise children during school hours and extracurricular periods (morning, afternoon, and lunch breaks).
• Maintain cleanliness, order, and safety of classrooms and equipment.
• Apply hygiene, safety, and first‑aid procedures.
• Manage conflicts among children and promote a respectful atmosphere.

Required profile

• Understanding of physical‑motor and emotional development of children.
• Knowledge of hygiene, safety regulations, and basic first‑aid.
• Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively.
• Awareness of inclusive practices for children with disabilities.

Required skills

• Computer literacy (basic use of office software).
• First‑aid certification or training.
