About the role

The municipality of Saint-Jean de Braye is seeking an ATSEM (Assistant Territorial Specialized in Early Childhood) to work full‑time (40%) within the Education and Families department. The ATSEM supports teachers in kindergarten classes, ensuring a safe, hygienic, and stimulating environment for young children.

Key responsibilities

• Assist children in developing autonomy and daily routines.
• Support teaching staff with reception, supervision, and hygiene of children.
• Maintain cleanliness, order, and equipment in classrooms and activity areas.
• Help prepare and animate pedagogical activities.
• Supervise children during before‑school, after‑school, and midday break periods.
• Apply safety, hygiene, and first‑aid procedures.
• Manage conflicts among children and work collaboratively with the teaching team.

Required profile

• Understanding of child physical‑motor and emotional development.
• Proficiency with basic computer/IT tools.
• Active listening, communication, and observation skills.
• Basic knowledge of team management and conflict‑resolution techniques.
• Familiarity with disabilities and inclusive practices.
• Knowledge of personal hygiene principles and proper handling of care products.
• Compliance with hygiene, safety, and first‑aid regulations.
