Associate Software Engineer, MuleSoft

About the role

Amgen is hiring an Associate Software Engineer, MuleSoft, within its engineering team. The engineer designs, develops and maintains software applications and solutions on the MuleSoft platform that meet business needs, while keeping critical systems available and performing. The role works closely with product managers, designers and other engineers to build scalable solutions, automate operations, monitor system health and respond to incidents to minimise downtime.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and test APIs and integrations using the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform under the guidance of senior developers and architects.
• Write clean, reusable and scalable code in Python, Java or other supported languages.
• Build APIs, integrations and connections between enterprise systems with the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform.
• Take part in configuration reviews, unit testing and documentation.
• Work with RESTful APIs, JSON, XML and common integration patterns.
• Debug and troubleshoot issues in integration flows and scripts.
• Collaborate with business analysts, architects and other developers across the Platform team.
• Follow secure development and deployment practices aligned with Amgen's standards.
• Provide ongoing support and maintenance of applications so they run smoothly and efficiently.

Required profile

• Master's or Bachelor's degree and 3 to 6 years of experience in computer science, IT or a related field.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Willingness to learn MuleSoft and enterprise integration technologies.
• Good verbal and written communication, ability to work with global, virtual teams, initiative, self-motivation and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Required skills

• Hands-on development experience with Python, Java or similar languages.
• Understanding and use of REST APIs, HTTP methods, JSON and XML.
• Good-to-have: exposure to MuleSoft Anypoint Platform or similar tools, Java, SQL, cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, Docker, and API projects.
• MuleSoft Certified Developer - Level 1 is preferred.
