Associate Publisher – Scientific Journals

About the role

The Associate Publisher will be responsible for developing and managing prestigious scientific journals, ensuring their continued growth, quality, and impact. This role combines strategic thinking, editorial expertise, and stakeholder collaboration to drive journal success.

Key responsibilities

• Take independent responsibility for assigned journals, overseeing strategic development, editorial performance, and stakeholder management.
• Drive journal growth by increasing submissions, publications, quality, impact and acceptance rates in consultation with Editors‑in‑Chief, Editorial Boards and publishing partners.
• Account for the financial performance of the journal, including business planning, profitability and operational metrics such as turnaround times and publication targets.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with Editors‑in‑Chief, Editorial Board members, societies, institutions and publishing partners, acting as the primary strategic contact.

• Proven stakeholder management and relationship‑building skills.
• Financial acumen to manage budgets, profitability and operational metrics.
