Associate Expert & Chapter Lead – Field Engineering

About the role

KONE is a global leader in elevators and escalators, driving smart, sustainable people flow in cities. The Head of Domain, Field Engineering will lead KONE India’s R&D field‑engineering team, focusing on maintenance, repair and installation development. The role transforms traditional, visit‑based maintenance into data‑driven, digitally enabled service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop preventive maintenance programmes to deliver high‑quality solutions and operational excellence.
• Act as technical lead on projects such as maintenance‑visit content optimisation and digital process development.
• Champion innovation in the Field Engineering domain, piloting new technologies and continuous‑improvement practices.
• Conduct reliability‑centered maintenance using data analysis and RAM simulations to improve efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with codes, standards, regulations and company policies.
• Collaborate with R&D, global business lines and country teams, monitoring performance metrics and driving actions to meet targets.

Required profile

• MSc or BSc in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Proven experience in maintenance management or large‑scale repair agreements.
• Strong leadership and people‑management capabilities.
• Expertise in RAM methodologies and data‑analysis concepts.
• Experience with rule‑based machine‑learning models and generative AI implementation.
• Familiarity with maintenance processes, systems and development.
• Analytical thinking, problem‑solving and ability to analyse data trends.
• Passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
