GET Engineer – Layout

About the role

KONE is looking for a GET Engineer – Layout to join its engineering team in Chennai. The role focuses on analysing technical requirements, designing tailored solutions and producing detailed 2D drawings using Mechanical AutoCAD.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse technical requirements and identify possible solutions.
• Select the optimal product or solution that meets customer needs.
• Clarify unclear requirements with stakeholders and decide on the solution.
• Design solutions and components to meet specific customer specifications.
• Create drawings, engineering structures or other relevant outputs.
• Understand basic cost levels of components and incorporate cost knowledge into designs.
• Consider safety, codes, standards, installability, maintainability, manufacturability and sustainability in all designs.
• Self‑check own work and participate in checking colleagues’ outputs.
• Report work progress in a timely manner.
• Communicate any deviations from customer specifications to relevant parties.

Required profile

• Strong Mechanical Engineering background.
• Proficiency in Mechanical 2D AutoCAD.
• Strong communication skills.
• Knowledge of any European language is an added advantage.
