Associate Engineer – Mechanical Design (Aerospace Sealing)

About the role

The Associate Engineer will join Eaton's India Innovation Centre, supporting the design, development, testing and sustainment of aerospace sealing products such as static seals, dynamic seals and accumulators. You will work on new product concepts and modifications, applying Six Sigma and DFSS methodologies to ensure quality and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Create and update 3D models, 2D drawings, bills of materials, ECR/ECOs for new and existing products.
• Perform prototype build, durability testing, and teardown analysis to validate performance against customer requirements.
• Apply DFSS, DFMEA, risk management and DVPR processes for product development and improvement.
• Maintain design standards, procedures and documentation control for the business group.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to improve design for manufacturability and manage obsolescence.
• Communicate technical information with external customers, addressing clarifications, testing results and field failures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 1‑2 years of experience in mechanical or product design engineering.
• Exposure to sealing products (static/dynamic) is a plus.
• Strong analytical ability and learning agility for varied technologies.

Required skills

• Proficiency in 2D/3D CAD tools – SolidWorks and/or CATIA.
• Model‑Based Definition and GD&T knowledge.
• Understanding of mechanics of materials, statics and dynamics.
• Familiarity with material science of metals, plastics, gaskets and related components.
• Experience with Six Sigma, DFSS, DFMEA, risk management and DVPR methodologies.
