Associate Director – OLE (Rail & Transit)

About the role

WSP is looking for an Associate Director to lead the Overhead Line Equipment (OLE) team within its Rail & Transit business. You will be responsible for delivering high‑quality OLE designs for Swedish railway projects, guiding technical development, and coordinating multidisciplinary teams across Sweden, India and other global locations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead delivery of OLE design packages from feasibility through IFC stages.
• Prepare and review layout plans, cross‑sections, wire run schedules, mast schedules and safety studies.
• Ensure designs comply with Swedish Rail (Trafikverket) requirements and EN/IEC standards.
• Apply system‑engineering principles and integrate OLE designs with track, signalling, telecom, civil and structural disciplines.
• Allocate work, review outputs and mentor the OLE team to build capability.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams in Sweden, India, Nordics, UK and other regions.
• Lead technical reviews, client submissions and resolution of design comments.
• Drive continuous improvement of design standards, workflows and quality processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s or professional certification is a plus).
• 15+ years of experience in railway OLE/electrification design, including team leadership.
• Proven experience delivering main‑line rail electrification projects in Europe or Nordic countries.
• Strong technical credibility and ability to influence multidisciplinary teams.
