Associate Corporate Counsel – Last Mile Operations

About the role

Amazon’s Legal Department is seeking an Associate Corporate Counsel to provide legal support for its rapidly expanding last‑mile delivery network and gig‑workforce programs in India. The role combines traditional legal counsel with a focus on AI‑driven process improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Advise business units on labour, employment, gig‑economy, transportation, compliance and regulatory matters.
• Structure, draft and negotiate commercial transactions supporting day‑to‑day operations.
• Develop compliance frameworks for driver engagement, EV adoption, and various transport modes.
• Lead advocacy and compliance under the Code on Social Security and state‑specific gig‑worker legislation.
• Handle urgent legal escalations, regulatory interactions, law‑enforcement matters and crisis response for North and East regions.
• Act as the AI stimulator for the Ops Legal team, identifying AI/ML opportunities, driving experimentation and championing technology adoption.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with experience in labour & employment, gig‑economy and transportation law.
• Proven ability to provide operational legal support and manage regulatory interactions.
• Experience handling high‑pressure escalations and crisis situations.
• Strong interest in legal technology and AI/ML tool implementation.
