Associate Architect – Technical Design Lead

About the role

WSP India is seeking an experienced Associate Architect to lead technical design delivery across all project stages. You will shape design strategy, ensure quality, and coordinate multidisciplinary teams to produce compliant and innovative architectural solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of architectural technical design solutions from concept to construction.
• Define and manage design delivery strategy, programme and outputs in partnership with project leadership.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to ensure coherent, compliant design information.
• Maintain design quality, technical accuracy and appropriate level of detail across all deliverables.
• Identify design risks, develop mitigation strategies and guide the team to robust solutions.
• Oversee production of technical drawings, 3D models, reports and presentation materials.
• Collaborate on project scope, programme, resource planning and financial forecasting.
• Ensure compliance with UK building regulations and statutory requirements.
• Monitor health & safety risks and contribute to risk assessments.
• Coach and mentor junior and senior team members, fostering a culture of technical excellence.

Required profile

• Qualified Architect (Chartered preferred) with 15+ years of experience in the architectural/construction industry.
• Proven track record managing large‑scale, complex projects.
• Strong knowledge of UK building regulations and construction standards.
• Excellent problem‑solving, decision‑making and stakeholder communication skills.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation and other BIM tools.
• In‑depth understanding of UK building regulations.
• Expertise in construction methodologies.
