Assistant Vice President, PC Central Controls

About the role

Barclays is looking for an Assistant Vice President for PC Central Controls in its Pune/Chennai office within the Finance team. The role performs an analytical review of securities, fees and investment income for the investment banking business, and oversees the financial aspects of trading activities, including the accuracy and integrity of the trading book, compliance with regulatory requirements and insights into trading performance.

Key responsibilities

• Analytical review of securities, fees and investment income, explaining balance sheet and P&L movements and identifying control gaps
• Reconcile daily P&L figures for trading desks with the trading book and resolve discrepancies
• Support the identification, assessment and mitigation of trading risks and report them to senior colleagues
• Maintain and analyse trading data and prepare regulatory reports, supporting external audits and auditor queries
• Communicate complex financial information to traders, risk professionals, senior colleagues and external stakeholders
• Collaborate cross-functionally on trading activities

Required profile

• Product control experience in an investment bank
• In-depth knowledge of financial products and markets of the relevant governance control
• Good understanding of end-to-end investment banking processes and their controls
• Ability to work independently with people from junior finance staff to front office business heads, and to negotiate through difficult situations
• Legal right to work in the UK; the role may be subject to enhanced governance and additional regulatory and compliance obligations

Required skills
