Assistant Manager – Mine Operations – Vocational Training Officer

About the role

The Vocational Training Officer will manage training processes to support production targets while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance in a mining environment. This role involves developing training programs, conducting simulations, and fostering a culture of safety and productivity for new officers and employees.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and deliver training sessions on operational procedures and safety protocols.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure participation and effectiveness of training initiatives.
• Identify training needs, prioritize budget allocation and monitor expenditure.
• Conduct competency assessments, skill evaluations and develop personalized training plans.
• Deliver theoretical and practical training in line with MVTR 1966 requirements.
• Provide re‑orientation and refresher training for non‑statutory personnel.
• Maintain an annual training calendar covering blasting, gas testing, explosives handling, HEMM operation and first aid.
• Facilitate statutory and safety trainings to ensure regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• Ability to develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for mine operations.
• Experience in coordinating training budgets and managing stakeholder relationships.
