Assistant Manager - Food & Beverage

About the role

The Assistant Manager – Food & Beverage will support daily restaurant operations, including bars, room service and floor service during peak periods. This role focuses on maintaining high standards of sanitation, guest satisfaction, and employee performance while assisting with menu planning and training initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in supervising restaurant shifts, ensuring proper supplies, equipment and uniforms for staff.
• Monitor service quality, food safety standards and compliance with alcohol service regulations.
• Handle guest feedback, resolve complaints and promote exceptional customer service.
• Support training, coaching and performance feedback for team members.
• Communicate operational issues to the Chef and Restaurant Manager.
• Manage budgetary targets and contribute to achieving financial goals.
• Open and close restaurant shifts, performing duties across all service areas as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least 4 years of food & beverage, culinary or related experience, OR a 2‑year degree in Food Service Management, Hotel & Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or a related field with 2 years of relevant experience.
• Proven ability to supervise staff, address guest concerns and enforce sanitation and safety standards.
• Strong communication skills and the capacity to train and develop team members.

Required skills

• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
• Understanding of alcohol service compliance with local laws.
