Assistant Manager – Engine Maintenance

About the role

Assistant Manager – Engine Maintenance will ensure operational readiness and reliability of dredgers and support crafts by leading maintenance activities, troubleshooting engine systems and overseeing workshop operations. The role supports Adani Group’s dredging business, which provides maintenance, capital and environmental dredging services across India.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee engine overhauls, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance to achieve optimal performance and compliance with preventive maintenance systems.
• Calibrate critical instruments according to OEM recommendations and conduct regular inspections.
• Support root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) implementation.
• Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing safety policies and safe work practices.
• Manage workshop resources, allocate manpower and equipment, and align activities with maintenance schedules and project demands.
• Stay updated on digital and AI advancements to improve maintenance processes and maintain competitiveness.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders such as the Superintendent – Engine Maintenance and Superintendent – Electrical Maintenance.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (essential) or B.Tech (desirable).
• 5–10 years of experience in engine maintenance, preferably in dredging or heavy‑industry environments.
• Proven ability to lead a team and manage workshop operations.
• Strong commitment to health and safety standards.
