Assistant Manager – Direct Tax (Bangalore)

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Manager for Direct Tax to join our Bangalore office. The role involves supporting clients with withholding tax, corporate tax returns, and providing advisory services on domestic and international tax matters.

Key responsibilities

• Compute monthly withholding tax liabilities and prepare quarterly withholding tax statements.
• Prepare and file corporate income tax returns.
• Assist in preparing lower withholding tax applications.
• Provide direct tax advisory services, including domestic and international tax compliance.
• Support representation and litigation, including income tax assessments and appeals, and draft submissions.
• Develop rapport with client management and ensure timely responses.
• Stay updated on Double Taxation Avoidance Treaties and advise on withholding tax applicability.
• Identify new business opportunities for existing clients and network internally.

Required profile

• CA Core qualification with a focus on Direct Tax.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in income tax, corporate tax, and international tax compliance.
• Strong knowledge of Double Taxation Avoidance Treaties.
• Ability to discuss technical issues, gather relevant information from clients, and build client relationships.
