Assistant Manager – BPS Tax

About the role

Deloitte is seeking an Assistant Manager (or Deputy Manager) to join its BPS Tax team in India. You will work closely with internal teams and clients, driving tax compliance, financial reporting, and business development initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise a team of executives handling bookkeeping using Tally, SAP or Zoho Books.
• Independently manage client relationships and support business development for assigned accounts.
• Prepare financial statements and audit schedules in line with India GAAP and Ind AS.
• Liaise with auditors, banks and clients to ensure smooth audit and compliance processes.
• Prepare and e‑file GST and TDS returns.
• Oversee payroll processing, identify efficiencies and implement controls.
• Generate monthly MIS reports and perform account reconciliations.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant (C.A.) qualification.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
• High level of integrity, professionalism and confidentiality.
• Team player with good understanding of modern office practices.
