Assistant Manager – AFR Export Operations

About the role

The Assistant Manager – AFR Export Operations will join the Air Freight Operations Export Team to optimise and grow the export of goods by air. The role focuses on delivering efficient, compliant export processes while collaborating with airline partners, network offices and internal stakeholders to support customer satisfaction and profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and enhance operational processes to drive consistent volume growth.
• Procure and manage optimal airline capacity and oversee warehouse coordination.
• Manage end‑to‑end shipment processes from pick‑up to delivery, ensuring accurate filing, invoicing and dispatch according to SOPs.
• Maintain operational hygiene by accurately booking costs and revenue for a healthy P&L.
• Engage carriers to design solutions, improve profitability and resolve claims, disputes and customer complaints.
• Handle customer accounts independently, following a ‘one file, one operator’ approach.
• Drive sustainable environmental practices within air freight operations.
• Manage relationships with carriers, vendors, customs brokers and network partners, and oversee billing quality and timeliness.

Required profile

• Strong product knowledge of air freight services and logistics.
• Excellent customer service orientation to address inquiries and resolve shipment issues.
• Proficiency with technology tools, specifically CW1, to optimise operations.
• Understanding of customs regulations and compliance requirements.
