Assistant Engineer Maintenance Mechanical

About the role

The Assistant Engineer Maintenance Mechanical will support the plant’s mechanical maintenance operations, ensuring reliable performance of heavy equipment and systems. This role involves supervising a diverse team, planning maintenance activities, and driving continuous improvement in a continuous process environment.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise fitters, contract workers, outsourced jobs and AMC personnel.
• Generate maintenance reports in line with group standards.
• Plan maintenance schedules, allocate manpower and resources.
• Manage performance of sub‑ordinates through target setting, appraisals and feedback.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3–5 years of mechanical maintenance experience in a continuous process industry, preferably cement.
• Strong leadership, communication and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Operation and maintenance of crushers, ball mills, rotary dryers, air compressors (screw), centrifugal and positive displacement pumps.
• Handling of material handling equipment such as fork lifts, belt and screw conveyors, and roller conveyors.
• Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems, hot‑air generators, heavy‑oil burners, thermic fluid heaters, heat exchangers, chilling systems and pulse‑jet dust collectors.
• Proficiency in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), spare parts inventory control, safety and environment management systems, and World Class Manufacturing (WCM) practices.
