Assistant Chemist

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Chemist to join our Innovation Campus in Navi Mumbai. The role involves conducting experimental and theoretical polymer research under the guidance of senior scientists, supporting continuous improvement of laboratory operations and innovation processes.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine polymer synthesis and analytical tasks using standard techniques and equipment.
• Document experimental results in electronic lab journals and prepare technical reports.
• Interpret data, propose next experimental steps, and optimise methods and workflows.
• Operate, maintain and troubleshoot laboratory facilities such as reactors and analytical instruments.
• Conduct lab trials to solve production issues, adapt products to customer requirements and pre‑test scale‑up procedures.
• Manage raw‑material inventory, analyse raw materials, identify new local sources and coordinate procurement.
• Maintain laboratory housekeeping, batch card and catalogue preparation, and ensure compliance with safety, health and environmental regulations.
• Support the technical sales team with development of new test methods and provide market knowledge on formulations and dispersions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Polymer Materials.
• 2–3 years of professional experience in polymer dispersion R&D, production operations or chemistry laboratory work.
• Advanced English communication skills (spoken and written).
• Awareness of EHS (level 2) and Data & IP Security (level 2).
