About the role

The Area Sales Manager (Business Loans) is responsible for driving the sourcing and disbursement of SME and business loan products across Mumbai and adjoining markets. Reporting to senior leadership, you will lead a team of Sales Managers and manage a network of referral partners to expand the loan portfolio while maintaining high standards of credit quality and compliance.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and coach a team of 7‑10 Sales Managers to meet sourcing and disbursement targets.
  • Onboard, activate, and monitor the performance of referral partners, DSAs, and connectors.
  • Develop and execute area sales plans based on market potential and competitive landscape.
  • Build strong relationships with SME customers and enhance local market presence.
  • Track funnel, disbursement, and portfolio quality metrics; take corrective actions as needed.
  • Coordinate with credit and operations teams to ensure smooth processing and turnaround times.
  • Support cross‑selling of additional lending solutions through the partner ecosystem.

Required profile

  • Proven experience managing sales teams in the financial services or lending sector.
  • Deep understanding of SME and business loan products (working capital, LAP, commercial lending).
  • Ability to develop and execute sales strategies in a competitive market.
  • Strong analytical skills to monitor performance metrics and portfolio quality.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with referral partners and internal teams.
