Area Credit Manager

About the role

The Area Credit Manager is responsible for executing risk and credit operations on assigned transactions, ensuring robust loan underwriting across Aditya Birla Housing Finance Limited’s product suite. The role involves assessing creditworthiness, making approval decisions within the defined matrix, and collaborating with sales, operations and technical teams to maintain portfolio quality.

Key responsibilities

• Perform end‑to‑end credit underwriting for housing finance products, including home loans, balance transfers, top‑up loans and loans against property.
• Assess borrower creditworthiness and risk profile in line with ABHFL’s risk frameworks and approval matrix.
• Make approval decisions or recommend escalations based on thorough analysis.
• Coordinate with sales, operations and technical teams to ensure smooth transaction processing and compliance with internal controls.
• Monitor portfolio performance, identify emerging risks and contribute to risk mitigation strategies.
• Maintain accurate documentation and reporting as per regulatory and internal requirements.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in credit underwriting, risk assessment or loan operations within the housing finance or banking sector.
• Strong understanding of credit policies, regulatory guidelines and risk management principles.
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions within an approval matrix.
• Excellent analytical and quantitative skills with attention to detail.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross‑functional teams.
