Applied AI Architect – Customer-Facing (Mumbai)

About the role

As a Forward Deployment Architect on DevRev’s Applied AI Engineering team, you will lead end‑to‑end design and delivery of AI‑driven business transformation projects for enterprise customers. Working closely with pre‑sales and post‑sales teams, you will translate customer requirements into scalable, agent‑based AI solutions built on the DevRev platform.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with customers (≈80% of time) to gather requirements and act as the technical owner of the relationship.
• Design, configure, and launch intelligent AI agents that integrate with external systems such as CRMs, APIs, and databases.
• Develop proofs‑of‑concept, custom integrations, and prototypes using TypeScript/JavaScript and Python.
• Optimize prompts, logic, and agent configurations for accuracy, reliability, and scalability.
• Define project plans, coordinate internal teams, and ensure timely delivery of deployments.
• Provide technical advisory on AI architecture, performance, and long‑term scalability.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in software development, AI/ML engineering, or technical consulting.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both engineers and business stakeholders.
• Customer‑centric mindset with a bias for action and problem‑solving.

Required skills

• Proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript and Python (nice to have Go).
• Experience with large language models, prompt engineering, Retrieval‑Augmented Generation and function calling.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS, GCP or Azure and modern DevOps practices (CI/CD, containers, observability).
• API integration, webhooks, and data‑pipeline development.
• Data‑driven evaluation using A/B testing, telemetry and metrics.
