Senior Data Platform Engineer – Azure & Microsoft Fabric

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and analytics solutions on Microsoft Fabric. This role is central to our migration from Azure Synapse Analytics to Microsoft Fabric and will shape our modern data platform built on the Medallion Architecture.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain robust data pipelines in Microsoft Fabric (Data Factory pipelines, Dataflows, Notebooks) to ingest, transform and load data at scale.
• Implement and manage a Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold) within OneLake, ensuring data quality and consistency.
• Build and operate ETL/ELT processes extracting data from REST/SOAP APIs, databases, files and third‑party services.
• Lead the migration of Azure Synapse Analytics workloads to Microsoft Fabric, preserving data integrity.
• Write and optimise complex SQL queries, stored procedures and views for transformation and reporting.
• Support light DevOps activities such as CI/CD pipeline deployment, environment management and release coordination.

Required profile

• 5–8 years of experience in data engineering with a strong ETL/ELT background.
• Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Fabric and Azure Synapse Analytics.
• Practical knowledge of Medallion Architecture and data‑lake concepts.
• Advanced SQL skills, including query optimisation and stored procedures.
• Experience integrating REST/SOAP APIs as data sources.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross‑functional teams.
