Application Services Lead

About the role

The Application Services Lead sits within Axi’s Technology department and is responsible for overseeing delivery, support and continuous improvement of business‑critical applications. You will manage a team of Application Services Engineers, ensuring reliability, performance and scalability in a global 24/7 environment.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee end‑to‑end delivery and support of critical applications across the organisation.
• Ensure effective shift handovers across global time zones for a 24/7 operational model.
• Lead, mentor and develop the Application Services team, fostering a high‑performance culture.
• Allocate resources to meet service delivery and project demands.
• Maintain, patch, upgrade and optimise applications for efficiency.
• Manage integrations between applications and internal/external systems.
• Oversee incident management, ensuring timely resolution of issues and escalations.
• Define and manage SLAs and KPIs related to availability, performance and user satisfaction.
• Drive automation, enhancements and optimisation initiatives.
• Ensure applications meet security, compliance and data‑governance standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in an Application Support or Application Services leadership role for business‑critical systems.
• Strong background in incident management, service delivery and operational support in high‑availability environments.
• Experience managing and mentoring technical support or application services teams.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, global environment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
