Application Engineer

About the role

Google’s Devices & Services team is looking for an Application Engineer to lead the full lifecycle of web‑based applications that support both internal tools and customer‑facing solutions. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams, translating UI prototypes and functional specs into reliable, scalable software while driving innovation in AI‑enabled services.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with engineering, business, privacy, security, and legal teams to design and sustain critical systems for the Devices & Services product area.
• Develop and deploy services that improve sales and supply‑chain processes, collaborating with industry analysts.
• Design and implement Generative AI and LLM‑based applications and agents.
• Build custom front‑end and back‑end solutions, ensuring best‑in‑class technical design, testing, automation, and clean modular code.
• Guide teams in adopting engineering practices such as code reviews, launch requirements, and release processes.
• Lead configuration and deployment of modules that support sales automation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience developing software in two or more languages (e.g., Java, Python, Kotlin) and with system integration.
• Experience with AI/ML, agentic technologies, and SaaS platforms such as Salesforce.
• Proven ability to work across organizational boundaries and collaborate with client and infrastructure teams.
