Specialist I – OS & Security

About the role

The Specialist I – OS & Security is responsible for designing, implementing, testing, and integrating operating system and security solutions across multiple business units. You will work closely with architects and stakeholders to ensure consistent, maintainable, and secure OS releases for embedded Windows platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute requirements, design, and integration of OS modules in line with higher‑level specifications.
• Lead customized OS (Windows XP/7/10 Embedded) releases for various products and hardware configurations.
• Track, analyze, and integrate regular security patches into operating systems.
• Contribute to technology roadmaps for compute platforms, aligning business needs with emerging trends.
• Standardize OS & security baselines to optimize cost and effort across R&D.
• Drive automation and efficiency in release and verification activities.
• Document designs, define unit interfaces, and support risk management, verification, and defect handling.
• Mentor and coach team members, and assist in identifying competency needs.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of the full stack (hardware, virtualization, OS, security) and their interactions.
• Experience with embedded Windows operating systems and OS hardening techniques.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional projects and communicate architectural impacts.
• Focus on quality, stability, and continuous improvement of platform releases.
