Software Engineer II

About the role

Google is seeking a Software Engineer II to develop and maintain full‑stack applications that power its large‑scale products. The role involves working on both front‑end and back‑end components, integrating systems, and contributing to innovative solutions across a variety of technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Write product or system development code for front‑end and back‑end components.
• Participate in or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders.
• Review code from other developers and provide feedback on style, testability and efficiency.
• Contribute to documentation and educational content, updating it based on product changes.
• Triage, debug, and resolve product or system issues, analyzing impacts on hardware, network, or services.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 1 year of software development experience in one or more languages such as Python, C, C++, Java, or JavaScript.
• Experience developing and maintaining front‑end and back‑end components of applications.
• Experience with web technologies, system interfaces, and integration of subsystems.
• Preferred: Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field and knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
