Annotation Specialist II

About the role

AlphaSense is seeking a motivated, detail‑oriented Annotation Specialist II to advance data annotation and analysis for AI model training and evaluate AI‑based model outputs. You will work with AI researchers and product managers on next‑generation Generative AI features for market intelligence.

Key responsibilities

• Lead curation, structuring, and benchmarking of complex financial datasets used to fine‑tune state‑of‑the‑art LLMs.
• Serve as a subject‑matter authority alongside AI research engineers to evaluate model behaviours, diagnose edge cases, and mitigate hallucination risks.
• Establish data guidelines and validation frameworks, acting as the ultimate gatekeeper for production‑ready GenAI features.
• Identify pipeline bottlenecks and design automated, scalable workflows for data teams.
• Provide strategic feedback to improve internal annotation tools and data pipelines.
• Communicate project progress and timelines to stakeholders.

Required profile

• MBA in Finance (or related field) with an undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, or Commerce.
• Minimum 2 + years of professional experience in financial research, data annotation, or financial data operations.
• Fluency in financial statements, corporate filings, earnings calls, and capital‑market dynamics.
• Proven ability to manage complex data projects with zero‑defect standards.
• Exceptional communication skills to translate domain nuances for engineering leaders.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment both independently and collaboratively.
