Android Kotlin Software Engineer

About the role

HARMAN Automotive is looking for an experienced Android UI Developer to lead the creation of sophisticated user interfaces for Android Automotive OS applications. You will work with Jetpack Compose and help shape the UI strategy across the team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of complex UI components using Jetpack Compose.
• Drive adoption of the MVVM architectural pattern and enforce best practices.
• Collaborate closely with UX/UI designers, the UI architect, and product owners to ensure technical feasibility.
• Define and execute comprehensive unit and UI testing strategies with JUnit, Espresso, and Compose testing.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and optimize UI/UX responsiveness.
• Mentor junior developers through code reviews and pair programming.

Required profile

• 3‑6 years of Android application development experience, with a strong focus on UI.
• Deep technical knowledge of Jetpack Compose, its architecture, and performance characteristics.
• Proficiency with Android Jetpack components, especially ViewModel and StateFlow/SharedFlow.
• Solid experience in UI testing and Kotlin Coroutines.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
