Android Developer

About the role

Reach Bliz India is looking for an experienced Android Developer to own and evolve its live mobility and logistics platform, ROUNDZ. You will enhance performance, improve real‑time GPS tracking, and ensure the Android app scales reliably for intra‑city transportation and fleet management services.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, enhance, and optimise the existing Android application for high performance and reliability.
• Improve real‑time vehicle tracking accuracy and overall system performance.
• Implement and optimise background location tracking while minimising battery impact.
• Enhance Google Maps integrations, including route visualisation, geofencing, and navigation features.
• Troubleshoot and resolve GPS, mapping, and background‑service issues across diverse Android devices.
• Collaborate closely with backend teams to refine real‑time location updates and tracking services.
• Ensure smooth operation of live production systems used by field teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience in Android development with a strong portfolio of live applications.
• Hands‑on experience with GPS tracking, real‑time location services, and related APIs.
• Solid understanding of Android background and foreground services.
• Experience with Google Maps SDK, route visualisation, geofencing, and navigation.
• Knowledge of battery optimisation techniques for location‑based services.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs, WebSocket, or other real‑time communication protocols.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to troubleshoot device‑specific issues.
• Experience working in agile teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
