Analyst / Senior Analyst – Portfolio Management

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Analyst or Senior Analyst to join Amherst’s Merchant Banking Portfolio Management team in Mumbai. The role supports reporting and analysis for our single‑family rental (SFR) investment portfolio, working closely with U.S. teams and other functional groups.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver regular performance reports to investors, shareholders and internal stakeholders.
• Assist in the analysis of portfolio assets, including acquisition, renovation, leasing, financing and disposition activities.
• Collaborate with development, operations and finance teams to ensure accurate data flow throughout the investment lifecycle.
• Support the preparation of capital raising materials and strategic presentations.
• Maintain and enhance reporting tools and dashboards used by the Portfolio Management group.

Required profile

• Graduate degree in Finance, Economics, Real Estate or a related field.
• 2‑5 years of experience in investment analysis, portfolio management or real‑estate finance.
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, cross‑border environment.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel (including pivot tables, macros).
• Financial modeling and valuation techniques.
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
• Familiarity with real‑estate investment metrics and MBS concepts.
