AI Engineer – Generative AI & Cloud Solutions

About the role

Airbus India is building AI‑driven products to automate complex engineering workflows and accelerate software transformation. We are looking for a visionary AI Engineer with 4‑7 years of experience to design, develop and deploy production‑grade AI solutions on Google Cloud.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end AI product engineering, from model selection and fine‑tuning to production deployment and performance monitoring.
• Design intelligent automation tools that parse, translate and modernize legacy code and technical documentation using NLP and large language models.
• Develop prompt engineering, retrieval‑augmented generation pipelines and fine‑tuned models for domain‑specific artifact generation.
• Build scalable, serverless AI micro‑services on Google Cloud Platform (Vertex AI, Cloud Run, GKE, BigQuery).
• Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, software architects and domain experts to ensure seamless integration.
• Establish CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, robust API design and comprehensive documentation for AI assets.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote an innovation‑first culture within the lab.
• Implement AI FinOps practices, monitor model inference costs and optimise resource utilisation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science or a related quantitative field.
• 4–7 years of hands‑on experience building, deploying and scaling AI/ML products, including generative AI applications.
• At least one recognised cloud or AI certification (e.g., Google Cloud Professional Machine Learning Engineer).

Required skills

• Python programming.
• Google Cloud Platform services: Vertex AI, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, GKE, BigQuery.
• Large language models, Retrieval‑Augmented Generation, LangChain or LlamaIndex.
• Vector databases such as Pinecone, ChromaDB or Vertex Vector Search.
• RESTful APIs, gRPC and micro‑service architecture.
• Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines.
• MLOps workflows, model tracking and automated testing.
• AI cost monitoring tools (OpenTelemetry, Cloud Monitoring).
