Accounts Teacher – Junior College (Commerce)

About the role

The Rosary Jr. College is seeking an Accounts Teacher to deliver engaging, concept‑driven lessons to Standard XI and XII Commerce students. The role focuses on preparing learners for Maharashtra State Board examinations while building strong analytical and practical accounting abilities.

Key responsibilities

• Teach Accountancy to Std XI and XII Commerce students in line with the Maharashtra State Board curriculum.
• Prepare lesson plans that align with the academic calendar and syllabus.
• Deliver interactive, application‑based sessions using real‑world business examples.
• Create and evaluate class tests, assignments, worksheets, and examinations.
• Provide timely, constructive feedback and conduct revision and exam‑preparation programmes.
• Maintain a disciplined, respectful classroom environment that encourages critical thinking.
• Keep accurate assessment records and collaborate with colleagues on curriculum delivery.
• Stay updated on curriculum changes and continuously improve teaching methodologies.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Commerce (mandatory); Master's degree in Commerce and B.Ed. are preferred.
• Strong academic background in Financial Accounting and related Commerce subjects.
• Previous experience teaching Accountancy at the Higher Secondary or Junior College level is preferred, though fresh graduates with excellent subject knowledge are welcome.

Required skills

• Excellent knowledge of Financial Accounting and the Maharashtra State Board curriculum.
• Strong communication and classroom‑management abilities.
• Ability to simplify complex accounting concepts for students.
