Accounts Officer – Contract (Logistics)

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Accounts Officer on a contractual basis to manage billing and revenue records for our Dedicated Freight Corridor and Multimodal Logistics Park at Pipri. The role bridges finance, operations, and commercial teams to ensure accurate invoicing and timely revenue collection.

Key responsibilities

• Create import and export invoices based on approved tariffs and goods declarations.
• Generate and issue accurate customer bills for terminal services, container movements, storage, and rail‑linked logistics.
• Verify charges such as demurrage, wharfage, and handling against rate sheets and contracts.
• Maintain up‑to‑date revenue and billing records in the ERP system and reconcile daily operational data with billing entries.
• Act as liaison between Finance, Operations, and Commercial teams to resolve billing discrepancies and capture extra service charges.
• Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing, revenue audits, and AR age‑analysis tracking.
• Support finance with bank reconciliations, cash flow tracking, and general ledger maintenance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related field (CIMA part‑qualified is a plus).
• 3–4 years of hands‑on accounting, billing or accounts receivable experience, preferably in logistics, port, dry‑port, shipping or off‑dock terminal environments.
• Strong numerical aptitude, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills for stakeholder coordination.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Advanced Excel.
• Hands‑on experience with ERP or specialized terminal/port financial systems.
