Accounts Assistant – Payables

About the role

We are looking for an Accounts Assistant – Payables to join the finance team of Pullman Chennai. The role involves processing supplier invoices, maintaining the accounts‑payable ledger and supporting month‑end financial activities in a dynamic hotel environment.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and review all documents required for payment preparation, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Initiate payments according to agreed terms and submit fund requirements to the Associate Director of Finance.
• Perform all Accounts Payable sub‑ledger bookings and verify that AP sub‑ledger balances match the General Ledger.
• Maintain up‑to‑date creditor files and reconcile outstanding invoices with the A/P ageing report.
• Prepare monthly payment schedules and ensure timely payment processing.
• Stamp documents as “paid” after approval to prevent duplicate payments.
• Prepare statutory returns for review by the Associate Director of Finance.
• Assist the Director of Finance in month‑end profit & loss preparation and provision for unbilled challans.
• Support the overall Accounts Payable function in line with hotel objectives and service standards.
• Provide courteous, professional service and be flexible to rotate across hotel departments as needed.

Required profile

• Diploma in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar Accounts Payable role.
• Good reading, writing and oral proficiency in English.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and relevant accounting systems.
