Windows Server Administrator – PowerShell & Ansible Engineer

About the role

CGI is seeking an experienced Windows Server Administrator with strong PowerShell scripting and Ansible automation skills to support a leading U.S. financial services institution. You will manage and automate Windows infrastructure, ensuring high availability and security for enterprise‑level server environments.

Key responsibilities

• Administer, monitor, and maintain Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 environments.
• Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policies and IIS.
• Perform server provisioning, patch management, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
• Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for automation and system administration.
• Implement infrastructure automation using Ansible for configuration management and deployment.
• Handle user accounts, permissions, security policies, and server hardening.
• Monitor server performance, capacity, and health; support backup, disaster recovery, and high‑availability solutions.
• Collaborate with application, network, and security teams to resolve infrastructure issues.
• Prepare technical documentation, SOPs, and operational reports.

Required profile

• 6‑8 years of hands‑on experience in Windows Server administration.
• Proven expertise in PowerShell scripting and Ansible automation.
• Strong knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPO, IIS, and WSUS.
• Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper‑V.
• Understanding of ITIL processes, security best practices, and compliance standards.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools is a plus.
