Surveyor – QA/QC Inspection Specialist

About the role

The Surveyor will conduct QA/QC inspections for oil & gas, power and petrochemical projects, ensuring compliance with Bureau Veritas standards and relevant codes such as ASME Section VIII. The role operates independently on a variety of assets, from pressure vessels to steel structures.

Key responsibilities

• Review contractual technical specifications and identify inspection issues.
• Inspect pressure vessels, boilers, storage tanks and related components from raw material to final stage, including document review (QAP, WPS, PQR) and testing (hydraulic, pneumatic, NDT).
• Perform stage‑wise inspection of piping systems, spools, flanges, fittings, valves and pumps according to applicable codes.
• Inspect pipes and tubes (ERW, SS) per ASTM, IS and API standards, covering U.T., eddy‑current, hydro‑test and mechanical tests.
• Assess castings, steel structures for hydro‑power plants and other critical components, using visual, magnetic particle and ultrasonic testing.
• Select appropriate inspection techniques and supervise junior inspectors.
• Conduct vendor audits, evaluate quality management systems and rate suppliers.
• Prepare inspection checklists, coordinate project inspections and deliver reports within agreed timeframes.

Required profile

• Experience in QA/QC inspection of pressure vessels, piping, steel structures or related industrial assets.
• Familiarity with codes and standards such as ASME, ASTM, IS, API.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong understanding of inspection documentation and testing procedures.
• Commitment to health, safety and environmental compliance.
