Software Development Engineer II

About the role

Amazon is looking for a Software Development Engineer II to help build next‑generation, distributed financial systems that power global transactions. You will work on large‑scale, cloud‑native services that support accounting, payments and other financial operations for millions of customers.

Key responsibilities

• Define high‑level and low‑level architecture for distributed financial platforms using modern AWS services.
• Design, develop, test and deploy scalable, reliable software for accounting and financial operations.
• Drive technology choices and ensure alignment with long‑term platform goals and scalability requirements.
• Implement engineering best practices such as automation, testing, code reviews and CI/CD pipelines.
• Leverage data and metrics to improve system performance, reliability and operational efficiency.
• Develop integration frameworks and APIs to streamline workflows and enhance interoperability.
• Maintain high code quality with a focus on security, readability and maintainability.
• Collaborate with Finance, Product and Platform Engineering teams to deliver high‑impact solutions.
• Experiment with modern technologies; AI/ML exposure is a strong plus.
