Senior Software Engineer

About the role

AlphaSense is seeking a senior engineer to join its Content Engineering team in Bengaluru. The role focuses on large‑scale content processing, leveraging AI technologies such as NLP and large language models to enable document understanding, classification, and data extraction.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy production‑grade solutions that use LLMs for document processing.
• Fine‑tune and adapt state‑of‑the‑art LLMs, creating robust prompt‑engineering strategies for confidential business documents.
• Address engineering challenges like high latency and non‑deterministic outputs.
• Build and scale data pipelines capable of handling high volumes of complex documents with high accuracy.
• Integrate observability tools to trace, debug, and monitor LLM‑based extractions.
• Own end‑to‑end system responsibilities, including design, coding, testing, CI/CD, and on‑call support.

Required profile

• 4+ years of software engineering experience, primarily with Python.
• Advanced degree (Bachelors or Masters) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
• 2+ years of hands‑on experience building and deploying applications that use large language models.
• Proven ability to extract structured JSON from text using LLMs and deep expertise in prompt engineering.
• Strong proficiency with classic NLP libraries for tasks such as NER, text classification, and preprocessing.
