Senior Software Engineer

About the role

SkySpecs is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help shape the Horizon platform, its core product for wind and solar inspection and asset‑management. You will work on end‑to‑end features across the full stack, leveraging AI tools to accelerate delivery while maintaining high standards of design and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with product managers, customers and engineers to translate ambiguous requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Design, develop, and ship production code across frontend, backend, infrastructure and data layers, including APIs, services and reusable UI components.
• Own and improve the Horizon platform by building internal tooling, automating workflows, enhancing observability and expanding AI‑driven capabilities.
• Review code from peers and AI agents, ensuring quality, security and performance.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience delivering production software systems with a strong record of self‑direction.
• Proven ability to operate in fast‑moving, early‑stage environments and to lead or mentor engineering teams as the organization scales.
• Deep understanding of modern backend (Node.js/TypeScript, Python or Go) and frontend (React) architectures.

Required skills

• AWS cloud services and Infrastructure as Code with Terraform.
• Node.js, Nest.js, TypeScript, React, Apollo GraphQL, Ant Design.
• Kafka, PostgreSQL, GitLab CI/CD, Grafana.
• Experience with AI‑assisted development workflows and agentic tools.
