Senior Mobile Engineer

About the role

Moniepoint is looking for a Senior Mobile Engineer to design and build highly scalable cross‑platform applications using Flutter. The role is fully remote and will focus on delivering robust financial services features for millions of users across Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop sophisticated, scalable mobile apps with Flutter, translating wireframes and Figma designs into high‑quality responsive UI.
• Create custom Flutter packages that leverage native Android and iOS APIs.
• Write efficient data queries and implement MVC/MVVM architectures for maintainable code.
• Explore and propose feasible architectures for new features, and resolve existing system issues.
• Apply best practices, document code, and manage version control with Git.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to set realistic deadlines and communicate progress.
• Ensure security guidelines are followed and validate cloud changes against backend security.
• Maintain the software lifecycle, including testing, bug fixing, and performance profiling.
• Work closely with Quality Assurance specialists to deliver stable releases and address reported bugs promptly.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of combined mobile development experience.
• Proven ability to build cross‑platform apps for Android, iOS, and Web using Flutter.
• Experience with native Android and iOS development for custom Flutter packages.
• Strong understanding of Firebase services such as Cloud Firestore, Push Notifications, Cloud Functions, and Analytics.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and secure coding practices.
• Effective communication with project stakeholders and QA teams.
