Senior Cyber Security Strategy & Architecture Specialist

About the role

As a Senior Specialist in Cyber Security Strategy Architecture, you will shape BASF’s data‑privacy and security landscape. You will work within the BASF Digital Hub Hyderabad, advising executives and guiding the implementation of security improvements across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Consult on projects to ensure security measures match the criticality of personal data processing.
• Integrate "Privacy by Design" and "Privacy by Default" principles, as well as data‑subject rights, into system, application and process design.
• Develop best‑practice guidelines for data protection in collaboration with the Data Protection Office.
• Define and evaluate security and data‑privacy requirements together with business units, Enterprise Architecture and the data‑protection organization.
• Initiate and steward security projects, acting as the professional caretaker for their lifecycle.
• Guide suppliers to meet BASF security standards and manage escalation of security incidents.
• Participate in industry networks, incorporate emerging trends into BASF’s security strategy.
• Communicate and coordinate with internal stakeholders to raise awareness of security and privacy policies.

Required profile

• Proven experience in cyber‑security strategy, architecture and data‑privacy governance.
• Strong understanding of privacy regulations and ability to embed privacy principles into technical solutions.
• Excellent advisory skills for senior management and cross‑functional teams.
• Ability to lead security projects and collaborate with external suppliers.
