Principal Software Quality Assurance Engineer

About the role

The Principal SQA will lead the design, development and maintenance of quality assurance tools for Aurora Networks' Service Assurance software products. You will work in an Agile environment, collaborating with product management and engineering to ensure high‑quality, reliable network solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement test cases and automated test suites for large‑scale distributed systems.
• Develop API‑based functional and end‑to‑end automation, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment/orchestration tools.
• Generate and maintain test reports, release quality reports, and communicate test status to stakeholders.
• Perform hands‑on lab work, including hardware setup, network configuration, and system troubleshooting.
• Define and enforce best practices for test automation, defect triage, and quality gates.

Required profile

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of SQA or software engineering experience.
• Strong leadership, communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience with telecom/cable/PON network management applications.
• Ability to mentor junior QA engineers and work across UI, API and environment layers.

Required skills

• Shell scripting, Python, Perl, Java, REST API testing, TestNG.
• Linux OS, network protocols (Sockets, TCP/IP, UDP, SNMP, gNMI).
• Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, SQL & NoSQL databases.
• DevOps‑aligned QA workflows, CI/CD pipelines, Zephyr, Jira.
• Selenium WebDriver, BrowserStack, Playwright.
• Cloud platforms: Microsoft Azure or AWS.
