Staff Software Engineer

About the role

Vistance Networks is looking for a Staff Software Engineer to help design, develop, and deliver its Service Assurance software products. You will work in an Agile, customer‑focused environment, building scalable backend services for broadband and telecom operators.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze business and technical requirements to design scalable backend solutions and evaluate technology trade‑offs.
• Develop robust, secure, high‑performance Java applications using the Spring ecosystem.
• Maintain and enhance existing distributed systems to ensure reliability and operational efficiency.
• Partner with QA engineers on debugging, test planning, and issue resolution.
• Document architecture decisions, design details, and root‑cause analyses.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, participate in design and code reviews, and promote engineering best practices.

Required profile

• 6+ years of experience developing commercial software products for Linux‑based distributed systems.
• Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, and Spring Security.
• Experience with microservices, performance tuning, and troubleshooting distributed applications.
• Solid knowledge of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, SNMP, gRPC/gNMI, and socket programming.
• Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.
